This award-winning piece was performed at the 2024 Lithuanian Song Festival by the combined choir of 11,000 singers, and is widely known and loved by treble choirs throughout Lithuania.
Concert Band
Based on two traditional Lithuanian folk songs. Its introductory theme strikes a note of hopeful longing, and then titular "Kadujo" theme springs forth with rhythmic energy, making the most of its odd but satisfyingly intuitive 5/4 meter. Accessible contemporary harmonies and counter melodies provide a breath of fresh air and lift the ancestral themes to new heights.
